I like when we get brand new parts for older cars. Usually after an insanity long amount of time on backorder (Aston/Lotus) but still cool to open and see :]

Glass headlight assy. for a 940 I think. Dangerous but at least they don't turn yellow after a week in the sun.

I was perusing the back shelves of a junkyard one time about 5 years ago and found a NIB headlight specific to my 1987 Mercury Cougar. I recognized the part # on the box. They charged me a whopping $10 for it and I was on my way. I opened the box and it was in fact a brand new assembly. Took me 2 years to find the match for the other side. From a dealer. In Texas. For $277.....

That parts guy had no idea what he had.... Average price for used ones on Ebay is about $100 each now....

NOS parts are fun too. Its like getting buried treasure. Especially if its in the original box. I've kept the boxes of a few, just because the box its self was cool.

My uncle has a NOS Jaguar E Type hood in his garage. I assume it's a Series I, since it's not a S3 and he never owned a S2. It's probably worth more than my car.

Yeah, I have them on the car along with a minty set of used ones in the garage. I occasionally look for NOS ones on ebay and whatnot. Haven't found any since that one time.

See those hub caps? Yeah. This pink beast is a '59 Meteor, and those hub caps were on the back shelf of a local wrecking yard, buried under so much dust you couldn't read them. I was helping do inventory one day and came across them, and the guy who was running the junk yard at the time is the fellow who owns this lovely whale of a car. Since the Meteor is a very rare Canada only model, he has never seen a single cap like this any where, let alone a mint set of four.

Price? $20

mmm... glass volvo lamps. Reminds me of the spare set my dad kept forever after wrecking his '84 240 GL. The fresnel effect on glass lamps... true beauty. I could stare at them for hours.

It would be nice to have just as art. You know how people do engine blocks as coffee tables? That's a long hood...paint it, fit the lights and chrome, and it would make an awesome dinner table or desk.

Mazda still makes new stuff for late 70's model cars, especially RX-7s. They're neat to see.
